In a surprising move by Rovio today, the company has released its first interactive book app for the iPad. The app is called Bad Piggies Best Egg Recipes, and is based on a previous print version available on Amazon for $9.99. It features 41 delicious egg recipes with step-by-step instructions.

According to Angry Birds CMO, Peter Vesterbacka ”the app is not just a book. We took the content from the book, 41 egg recipes, but didn’t want to just take the book, make a PDF and sell it to people. We actually made it a lot more interactive.”

Rovio certainly has high hopes for the Bad Piggies cookbook app, and has mentioned it is anticipating millions of downloads, “We’re not looking thousands or tens of thousands of downloads, we’re looking for millions of downloads of this book…We’re going for massive, massive volume.”
