Apple Kills Chomp For Android
Finding new and cool apps may be kind of a difficult task to do with the App Store’s current search system. In an attempt to bring a better experience to iOS users, Apple bought the awesome app discovery firm Chomp. Interestingly, only a couple months after the deal, Apple has killed the Android version of Chomp’s app discovery software.

As GigaOm points out, the app is no longer available in the Play Store and all mentions of Android on Chomp’s website have been deleted. The move is not too surprising as iOS and Android are obviously direct competitors, but what’s interesting is that there were no official announcements made. The app simply vanished.
Apple bought the firm earlier this year for an undisclosed amount. I think it’s safe to assume that Apple bought the firm in order to improve search and discoverability in the App Store and iTunes, which are two things that Chomp has been known for.
