App Store Completes 50 Billion App Downloads, Lists The Top 25 Paid And Free Apps Of All Time

At the start of this month, Apple started the countdown to the 50 billionth app download. Today, after just 2 weeks, the App Store has completed the milestone and the 50 billionth app has been downloaded. It was only in January 2013 that the App Store hit the 40 billion milestone, which means 10 billion apps have been downloaded in the past 5 months.

Apple promised a $10,000 App Store gift card to the person who downloaded the 50 billionth app and $500 to those who download the next 50 apps. The winners haven’t been announced as of yet, but the page will be soon updated to reveal the name of that one lucky person who gets to take home the $10,000 App Store gift card. It doesn’t matter if the 50 billionth app is paid or free and anyone, from 155 countries where the App Store is available, can participate.

The company has also listed the top 25 paid and free apps of all time for both the iPhone and iPad. These apps played an important role in the achievement of this amazing milestone. Here’s the complete list.
