Samsung Galaxy S II To Get Official Android 4.0 Update On March 15th
According to Samsung Israel, the official rollout of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy S II will begin on March 15th. Or at least, that’s what their Facebook page says. The best smartphone of the year lacked the best Android OS, but that’s all about to change soon. Owners of the S II in Israel will most likely get the much awaited update later this month.

Google released Android 4.0 in November last year, but only the Galaxy Nexus was given Ice Cream Sandwich. The Galaxy S II has all the requirements and is very much qualified to run the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, but unfortunately, it hadn’t got the update. We’re not sure when the update will start rolling out to other parts of the world, but all unlocked and carrier-labeled S II’s in Israel can expect the update on the 15th of March.
We promised we were working on it. You waited patiently. And on 15 March it’ll arrive: Android version 4, ICS, to tens of thousands of GALAXY S II devices purchased from cellular companies in the country or directly from us. We are very excited for the launch, hope you are too.
So, there you go. I hope this news made all the Galaxy S II owners around the world happy. Keep in mind that only the Israeli’s will be getting the update at first, but you can expect it to roll out to the rest of the world by the end of March.
