Google promised that Nexus S users would be getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update by the end of July. Staying true to their word, Google has started rolling out the Android 4.1.1 update to certain Nexus S models via OTA.
According to members at the XDA-Developers forum, hardware variant i9023 of Nexus S is beginning to get the update. The OTA update weighs in at 114 MB and gives you the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.1 goodness. For users who own a different version of Nexus S, such as i9020T and i9020a, there are methods to get the official ROM flashed on to your device. If you cannot wait for the official update to arrive on your device, you can download the ROM for the source link below and flash it on to your device. Make sure you have ClockWorkMod recovery installed and follow the instructions here (for i9020a).
