Last week, we got word that Samsung was preparing to release a black version of their top-of-the-line smartphone, the Galaxy S III. Today, more details about the new device have become available via UK electronics retailer Clove. They say the black S III will have 64GB of internal storage, which presumably means the cheaper 16GB and 32GB models won’t be available in black.
They’re also projecting a release date (in the UK, at least) of “early October.” If that holds true for the rest of the world, it should arrive in time to go head-to-head with the new iPhone. Clove points out that with 64GB of internal memory, and up to 64GB more supported from the SD card slot, the black Galaxy S III has the potential to have way more storage space than virtually anything else on the market right now.
It begs the question: What kind of storage options are we going to see on the iPhone 5? Since Apple devices don’t generally support SD card expansion, Apple will have to include 128GB out of the box if they want to be able to compete.
